Background information
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more commonplace in society, there is a critical need for practitioners and consumers to gain foundation knowledge of the association artificial intelligence has with actual intelligence.
This short resource highlights the way in which artificial intelligence operates and provides context to the differences between AI assistants such as Copilot and artificial intelligence as an outcome.
Learning outcomes
- An understanding of what the term AI means
- Knowledge of how artificial intelligence works in principle with real-world examples explained
- An understanding of how to take advantage of artificial intelligence and context of use cases in allied health
- Experiences to break down anxieties of AI in the media and allow competency in decision making around artificial data and recommendations
In this course you will cover elements within the four following elements:
- Element 1 – Introduction and background information
- Element 2 – Relationship with data
- Element 3 – The importance of actual intelligence
- Element 4 – Performing reliable integration of artificial intelligence in your workplace
- Element 5 – Data security and consent
This workshop is delivered online with the following approximate timeframe:
- Elements 1, 2 and 3 – approx. 30 mins
- Break – 5 approx. mins
- Elements 4 and 5 – 30 approx. mins
- Q&A – 20 approx. mins
- Total including setup – 90 mins
All participants receive a copy of the student workbook (PDF version) including 10 knowledge check questions. Interactive use of ChatGPT or Copilot is available for attendees.
